Celina Wedding Photographer: Square Charm and Country Acres
Celina is what McKinney was twenty years ago: a real Texas square, open country in every direction, and a wedding scene that is growing up fast without losing its charm. For photography, that combination is gold. You get historic brick downtown, working ranchland five minutes out, and some of the least obstructed sunset horizons in Collin County.
I photograph Celina weddings with a documentary heart and an editorial finish: honest moments, and portraits that use all that country light on purpose.
Where Celina couples get married
On the square, Two 29 on the Square puts your reception inside a historic downtown building with exposed brick walls and 3,700 square feet of open space, the kind of room that photographs beautifully with nothing but string lights. Out in the countryside, Honey Creek Venues spreads a modern indoor and outdoor property across 26 acres for up to 125 guests, The Venue at Waterstone sits between Celina and Frisco, and River Valley Place offers customizable ceremony and reception settings.
Celina also borders the wider estate belt, so nearby options multiply quickly: Aristide McKinney is a short drive south, and the Aubrey estates sit to the west. My DFW wedding venue guides cover the belt venue by venue.

Small weddings, big light
A lot of Celina weddings are deliberately intimate: 75 to 125 guests, one long table era, vows under open sky. I think that is a feature, not a compromise, and I wrote about why in my piece on micro weddings. A smaller guest list buys you time, and time buys photographs. With fewer moving pieces, we can take fifteen unhurried minutes at sunset instead of five rushed ones.
As everywhere in North Texas, I anchor outdoor ceremonies about 75 minutes before sunset. The venue hub has the month by month sunset table, and my timeline guide does the rest. Celina’s flat western horizon means you get every last minute of that light.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Celina, TX?
DFW full-service wedding photography typically runs between about $2,500 and $5,000. My collections start at $5,200 for 8 hours with one photographer and are fully published on my pricing page. Intimate weekday and small-guest-count weddings can sometimes fit shorter coverage; ask me about your specific day.
Do you photograph small and intimate weddings in Celina?
Yes, happily. Many Celina venues, like Honey Creek at up to 125 guests, are built for intimate weddings, and smaller celebrations often photograph better because the timeline breathes. I photograph them with the same two-photographer options as large weddings.
Which venues near Celina do you recommend seeing?
Start with your size and setting: Two 29 on the Square for historic downtown character, Honey Creek Venues or River Valley Place for countryside acreage, and The Venue at Waterstone between Celina and Frisco. My DFW venue guide hub covers the wider estate belt in photographer-level detail.
How far in advance should Celina couples book?
9 to 12 months ahead is typical for Saturday dates, and spring and fall go first. If your date is closer than that, reach out anyway. My calendar always has a few openings each season.
