Privacy Policy (Jose Hiram Photography)
Effective Date: October 31, 2026

By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1) Information We Collect
A. Information you provide directly
When you fill out our contact form, we collect what you type into it: your first and last name, email address, Instagram handle (optional), the kind of session, your date, location and guest count, your budget range, how you found us, and your message. When you email, call or text us, or book, we may also collect:
- Your phone number, if you give it to us
- Event and session details (for example wedding date, venue or city, coverage needs, preferences)
- Billing and contact information needed to complete purchases or bookings (handled through Pixieset and Stripe, as described below)
B. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers collect:
- IP address
- Browser and device type and settings
- Pages viewed, how you arrived (for example a search or an ad), referring and exit pages, and approximate location (inferred from your IP address)
- Interactions on the page, such as scrolling, clicks on outbound links, file downloads, and use of the contact form
- Cookie data and similar identifiers, including analytics and advertising cookies (see Section 4)
C. Client gallery and delivery information (Pixieset)
If you receive a gallery, we may process information needed to:
- Create and deliver your gallery
- Manage downloads, favorites, and print or product orders (if enabled)
- Communicate about gallery access and delivery
2) How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and communicate with you
- Provide photography services and deliver images and galleries
- Create and manage client galleries through Pixieset
- Send proposals, invoices, receipts, and service communications
- Process payments via Stripe through Pixieset
- Understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and which lead to inquiries (Google Analytics)
- Show ads for Jose Hiram Photography to people who have visited the Site, and measure whether our ads lead to inquiries (Google Ads)
- Maintain our business operations, records, and customer support
- Secure the Site and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce agreements
3) How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share some information with Google for advertising, as described in Section 4. Some state laws call that “sharing” for targeted advertising, and you can opt out as described in Section 4.
We share information with:
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads, through the Google Site Kit plugin; see Section 4)
- Pixieset (gallery delivery, client management, and, if enabled, prints and products)
- Stripe (payment processing, via Pixieset)
- DreamHost (website hosting) and Cloudflare (security, performance, and privacy-friendly page view statistics that do not use cookies)
- ShortPixel (delivers the Site’s images) and Google Fonts (delivers the Site’s fonts); your browser connects to them, so they receive your IP address
- Instagram (Meta): some images in our Instagram feed load directly from Instagram’s servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Meta when those images display
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law, or to protect rights and safety
These providers process information under their own privacy policies and, where applicable, contractual obligations.
4) Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
Essential. The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to work, stay secure, and load quickly.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-VQ5DCEFDNY) to see how the Site is used. It records the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location, your device and browser, and interactions such as scrolling, outbound clicks, file downloads, form use, and whether the contact form was sent. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to 2 years. Google’s cross-device “Google signals” feature is switched off in our Analytics tag settings. Google keeps the event data for the retention period set in our Analytics account, which Google limits to a maximum of 14 months; summary reports can last longer.
Google Ads (remarketing). The Site includes the Google Ads tag. It lets us show ads for Jose Hiram Photography to people who have visited the Site, on Google and on websites and apps that partner with Google. It adds your browser to an audience list of Site visitors, and it measures whether an ad led to a visit or an inquiry (for example, a visit to our contact page). It uses a cookie named _gcl_au, which lasts 90 days, along with Google’s own advertising cookies. Audience list membership lasts for the period set in our Google Ads account; Google allows up to 540 days.
Enhanced conversions. When you send our contact form, the Google tag can read the email address you entered (and a phone number or address, if a form includes them). It turns that information into a scrambled code (a one-way hash) in your browser and sends only the code to Google. Google uses it to match the inquiry to a Google account, so we can see whether our ads led to it. We do not receive any information from Google that identifies you.
Visitors in the EU, UK, and Switzerland. For visitors in these regions, Google’s tags start in a restricted mode that does not store analytics or advertising cookies.
Your choices:
- Turn off personalized ads from Google, including ours, in Google Ad Settings: adssettings.google.com
- Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info
- Stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Use your browser settings to block third-party cookies, delete cookies, or browse privately. Some Site features may not work properly if cookies are blocked.
Our Site does not currently respond to Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals, so please use the options above.
5) Payments (Stripe via Pixieset)
Payments are processed through Pixieset, which uses Stripe to process credit/debit card transactions. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We may receive payment confirmations and details necessary for records (e.g., payment status, amount, and transaction identifiers).
6) Data Retention
Inquiries. When you send our contact form, your message is emailed to us, and a copy is also stored in our website’s database. We keep inquiries for 24 months. The copies stored in the website’s database are deleted automatically once they are 24 months old, and we delete the email copies on the same schedule. If an inquiry becomes a booking, it is kept with the client records described below. You can ask us to delete yours at any time using the contact details in Section 10.
Clients. We keep booking details, contracts, client communications, and delivery records as long as reasonably necessary to provide services and deliver galleries, maintain business records (including accounting and tax), resolve disputes and enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Because photographs have long-term archival value, we may keep these records for an extended period.
Analytics and advertising data is kept by Google for the periods described in Section 4.
7) Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. However, no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
8) Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request corrections or deletion (subject to legal/business retention needs)
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of marketing communications (if applicable)
- Opt out of targeted advertising, using the choices in Section 4
To make a request, contact us using the information below.
9) Children’s Privacy
The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
